Christmas at the Orangery

11 Oct

I’m thrilled to be exhibiting at this year’s Christmas at the Orangery. On Saturday, 15th December between 10 and 5pm you’ll find me at Bradbury Hall, Henleaze.  There are some lovely exhibitors. They’ve even written about me (thank you, Rachel Goodchild) – you can read the whole post here.  Oh and the entrance fee is only £1 (free to under 16s).

On the day I’ll be demonstrating some clever sewing techniques as well as fabulous ways to embellish and upscale your vintage finds. I’ll also be signing copies of my new book, “Thrifty Style” (a perfect Christmas present for the vintage lover and seamstress in your life). Come along and ask me about vintage, styling, eco design and personal shopping. See you there!

Natasha Bailie Vintage Clothing Co.

10 Oct

Do you know Natasha Bailie? She’s a dedicated vintage-devotee with an online store for fashionistas in search of quality vintage pieces with retro styling.  She runs a fab vintage blog and she’s just reviewed my new book!

Read the full piece here.

At Natasha Bailie Vintage Clothing Co. each piece for sale is carefully sourced from vintage fairs, antique stores and private collections. Her Singapore vintage clothing emporium is an Aladdin’s cave of jewel colours, magnificent tulle and timeless shapes, and every piece is one-of-a-kind, so you won’t bump into a fellow Betty stealing your style!

Thanks for the lovely review Natasha.

Bristol Vintage

30 Sep

The lovely Ali at Bristol Vintage has posted about my book!

Read the full piece here.

Bristol Vintage is the place to go to for vintage crockery, bunting, jugs of wildflowers and wind-up gramophones.  They plan, design and style weddings, parties, picnics, media events and premieres.  They offer prop hire, can source vintage items for you and they run the annual, and incredibly popular Bristol Vintage Wedding Fair. I exhibited at the fair last year and loved it – tons of vintage gorgeousness for the discerning vintage crowd.  Everything from vintage-inspired veils to handmade shoes, and plenty of beautiful upscaled, reworked and designer dresses – right up my street. If you get a chance to go to next year’s Fair, I recommend it (and it’s not just for brides!).
